Thoughts on Ep. 1

So having just finished the new episode I have a lot of thoughts and writing them all down is a good way to process all the new info, plus it’s always interesting to see what other people think. There will be spoilers under the cut, you’ve been warned!

Beacontown: Since it’s where we start, it seems like a pretty good place to start here. There’s so much to see and do I love it! I tried to do everything I could there (even knowing it was pretty likely Petra was gonna get mad at me) and I still kinda wonder if I got everything. It was so good to see Nell, Stampy, and Stacy again, as well as all the other stuff. I love seeing Jesse interact with people and being a good mayo- I mean leader and hero-in-residence.

Axel and Olivia: Such a short time with them, but I’m still glad we got to see them regardless. Also I guess Olivia’s been breathing in a bit too much redstone dust because she sounds a little bit different. It’ll take a bit of getting used to, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Lukas: Lukas reading his book and being like the narrator of the opening made my heart happy. And that little end scene! First of all I love his tiny cabin and his horse, and it also makes my heart very happy that he has a cat. I don’t think anyone is surprised by this, but it’s great all the same. I’m glad he’ll be jumping in to help next episode, I’ll never say no to more of the fandom’s favorite blond greaser.

Petra: Oh man, what to say about Petra. Clearly she’s dealing with some stuff, particularly feeling neglected by her friends and it seems like she feels overshadowed by Jesse. I’m interested to see where this is gonna go in the rst of the season, girl has some stuff she’s gotta work through. Aside from that it was fun to see her as the world’s biggest fangirl around Jack, it was adorable. And this dork named her sword “Miss Butter”. Oh man, Petra has come such a long way from the ‘cool and mysterious badass’ from season 1 episode 1 and I love it.

Jack: Well hello there drama queen. He gets introduced with the most dramatic flair and I appreciate that. He’s clearly struggling with some stuff himself. It looks like he and Petra are gonna be good for each other, I think.

Nurm: Once again telltale gives us a character who we can’t understand but still has so much personality! I am definitely looking forward to seeing more of him.

Jack’s Friend: Vos I think his name was? I want to trust this, I want him to actually be Jack’s friend and be fine but I have a bad feeling that things are not as they seem. It feels way too convenient that he was alive, especially because it didn’t really further the plot. I could be wrong, but we still have 4 episodes to go, so we shall see.

Stella: I’m very intrigued by her. She doesn’t seem like a very nice lady at first, but clearly she looks up to The New Order (particularly Jesse and Petra) so I’m very interested to see where her story goes.

Lluna: Sassy Llama I’m sorry you’re so unhappy I’d have Jesse adopt you if I could. Though maybe don’t kick and spit on her. Or do you know whatever makes you happy.

Heckmouth: Nope. No thank you can we not call it a mouth please. I would be so much happier if we could just not. Hits way too close to my phobias for me thanks. But as long as it’s not an actual mouth I’m okay. Probably.

Admin: Giant scary man who whispers at you through a creepy gauntlet you can’t get off your hand. Yeah that’s not unsettling or anything.

Radar: I can’t believe I forgot to talk about this little sweet pea oh my gosh what an excitable little sweetheart! I wholeheartedly agree with Olivia that he’s adorable. He’s just doing his best and I appreciate him.
